Ray Anthony was a widely celebrated Big Band leader and a much loved trumpet player. This CD includes two classic albums by Ray Anthony and his Orchestra in their entirety. Plays Steve Allen is dedicated to the songs of the popular composer and TV host Steve Allen, who was also a huge Jazz fan. Like Wild, on the other hand, comprises a group of splendid 1958-59 sessions, including his hit 'Peter Gunn' and some other related tunes. The latter date appears here on CD for the first time ever and is completed by two rare tracks from the same sessions which originally were only issued as singles: 'Stockholm Blues' and another tune from Peter Gunn, 'Dreamsville'.
