David Sylvian began his career as composer and vocalist with the innovative British band Japan. Following a collaboration with Ryuichi Sakamoto - Sylvian's 1st worldwide chart success, "Forbidden Colours" - he recorded several solo albums, later striking up a musical partnership with guitarist Robert Fripp (King Crimson). Dead Bees on a Cake continues his collaborative efforts, including contributions from guitarist Marc Ribot and Brit-Asian producer and tabla player Talvin Singh.
