Holoholo mai -- come with us on a journey that takes you around Maui in song. As you visit the many scenic and historical sites, you will experience them on a deeper level by learning what Hawaiians were inspired to write about when composing songs about those places. As you enjoy the music, you will learn about the communities, plants, winds, and rains that make Maui a memorable and beloved island to it's kama'aina (children of the land) and visitors alike. The songs are performed by people with special connections to the places represented and include 8 originals and 2 chants. The 28-page booklet enhances your experience of the musical journey around Maui; each song's inspiration and connection to the performer is explained and accompanied by the lyrics in Hawaiian with English translations. Each song is also paired with an image from award-winning Maui photographer Randy Jay Braun.
