"I'm not convinced there's a lot of people out there who can put one out." The implication is obvious: Kid Rock is the one man who can save us from mediocre concert recordings. Live Trucker was recorded in various arenas around the Detroit area, which supposedly puts the Kid in the lineage of Motor City live platters like the MC5's Kick out the Jams, Kiss Alive! and Bob Seger's Live Bullet. And sure, we hope that jams will be kicked out, a Paul Stanley-worthy "Aww riiiight" or two will be belted, and maybe he could cover "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man" or something. But given Rock's recent marketing decisions, we suspect something a bit more Southern-fried is coming down the pike. And why not? That's been the stuff of excellent live albums as well.
